CSN Rising to the occasion of need once again for Back2School supplies
The pleas for assistance changed dynamics in January from food hampers to basic school needs. Covid19 financial challenges are worsening and many families were experiencing the stress of back 2 school basics. The Caring Sisters Network(CSN) identified with this need before schools opened its doors to learners for the new academic year. 250 kids were selected to receive a CSN school hamper. A hamper consisted of a primary school bag, a sanitizer, face masks, a face towel, a lunch box, a juice bottle, and a school uniform voucher to the value of R600. Vouchers distributed were either from Gem Schoolwear or the Schoolwear Factory Outlet depending on school being attended. Areas of distribution were Richmond, Folweni, Malagazi, Lindelani and Burnwood settlement.
‘We try to make our small differences whenever and wherever we can. We take pride and joy in assisting those who are most in need . We are extremely grateful to our donors and sponsors without whom none of our campaigns will be possible.” Yasiera Mahomed-Suliman, Chairperson CSN.
